Journey into Darkness
The GM: Jon and Aneese
The Players:
Brian
Ray
Brandon
Bob
Ryan
Game System: Call of Cthulhu
Game Type: One-Shot JonCon
Synopsis:
A Cthulhu LARP run at an early JonCon. The game was entirely live action, and the players played themselves. The concept was that the players were college students who responded to an ad to participate in psychological research for some money. They drove out to the house of the 'doctor' and answered a bunch of questions about fear. Additionally, he took a blood sample off of each.
It turns out that he wasn't taking a blood sample, but rather was infecting them with his experimental zombie syrum. The players ended up locked in the basement, saw one of the zombies kill the doctor, then realized they were becoming zombies themselves. The group got split in two, on each side of the basement. One side was able to go out to the garage (dodging zombies on the way) and retrieve a notebook with an anti-syrum recipe, while the other side had access to the chemicals needed to prepare the recipe. Eventually it was discovered that there were more zombies locked downstairs with them. Terror ensued.
Memorable Moments:
Ray played his character (himself) as a terrified pussy. He went outside with the half the group that needed to retreive the notebook, which had to dodge around the slow-moving zombies. Ray ran back inside at full speed, barrelled into the sliding door leading to the basement and knocked it clean off without slowing.
Notes:
(Brian): Jon wrote in the description for this game "Not for the weak of stomach. I'm not kidding!" What this actually meant was at the end of the game we had to actually drink the anti-syrum -- a concoction of various household ingredients including Robitussum, salt, and other nastiness. We all drank it under Jon's watchful eye, and died anyway.
