The Synopsis

Part 2 of Brian's Obsidian trilogy. In this campaign the character, under the guidance of Saint Donnovan try to infiltrate Jade Enterprises, a megacorporation suspected of Daemonic influence.

Meanwhile a new daemon has been released into the zone, the Inami Beast, which doubles in size every day and has been eluding capture for weeks. The character are also hunting Jarjuk, kultist of the Lost who summoned the Inami Beast, and have made the questionable ally of Leah Demonsword.

As the game progressed, William becomes sexually involved with Leah Demonsword, and efforts to infiltrate Jade Enterprises do not go well. The safehouse of Saint Donnovan is attacked by what the characters suspect are agents of Jade, and only Donnovan's knowledge of high ranking mystic rituals save them.

In the end the characters gain much information on Jade Enterprises but nothing conclusive. They do, however, discover how to draw out the Inami Beast, and they decide to summon it immediately in front of Jade Enterprises headquarters. The massive daemon appears and Jarjuk calls it into single combat -- and Leah Demonsword reveals herself as a kultist of the Lost as well and also fights the Inami Beast, and Jarjuk.

The Law shows up, and between the kultists, the massive daemon, and the class 4 ordinance fired the the Law, the Inami Beast is slain and the Jade Enterprises headquarters are completely demolished. Jarjuk is killed in the battle, and Leah Demonsword is captured by the Law. The characters gain a commendation on their record, and the eternal enmity of Jade. So much so that Saint Donnovan contrives to send them into the Wastelands on a mission for the New Kingdom Project, because the Wasteland is the only place that they could possibly be safe from Jade's retribution....

But that's another story.

Notes

(Brian) I think a ton of things in this game worked really well. One of my favorite moments was when they managed to break into Jade's email system and steal all of the low priority (low security) emails. I handed them 50 pages of printouts for them to go through. Some of the emails had important bits in them, most were irrelevant, but best of all was how they could piece together various email chains and conversations -- most of them not related to their goals, but revealing all sorts of stuff about the company and its employees.
