The Synopsis

So since Shark is making this update Shark gets to write the Synopsis. Anyone who doesn't like it can take it up with my friend Ares Predator III.

Events so far break down into roughly three or four phases.

There is a short pre-phase involving several astronauts on what is believed by the astronauts to be an asteroid in the main belt. There is a strange computer system on the asteroid in a chamber, and some of their crew has disappeared. The cybernetics from one crew member was left behind along with his gear, flight suit, and personal articles. The fate of the astronauts is unknown.

The first phase involves several very close genetic duplicates of the runners. One duplicate of Shark, and one duplicate of Spydr. These duplicates while close, are much more ruthless and much higher tech than the runners that the other runners know. Hence the duplicates are known as Evil Shark (Ehark) and Evil Spydr (Epydr) for short. Other players in phase one are agents of Arasaka Security Corporation. Phase one begins with an ordinary training job, but phone calls and chance occurances lead the runners into direct combat with the evil runners. Both evil runners are killed, and the original runners enjoy a short period of death vacation. The evil runners had captured an ally of Shark, Xing La, and were in the process of torturing her when they were engaged and defeated.

The second phase begins after the confrontation in phase one. The runners begin researching the events surrounding the press conference that Arasaka holds following the large shoot out in downtown MSP. During phase two the game appears on their door, strange technology is being released or rumored to going to be released by Arasaka, and ultimately Zona is kidnapped and Raven's Compound is destroyed. Phase two ends with Zona's kidnapping and Shark's 'Ultimatum' as this puts the runners on the road to New York and to phase three.

Phase three involves the first events of the end of the world. First, 90% of the people on earth disappear, and then second Time stops for a couple days. During this time, only the runners are able to move in this time stop. The 90% disappearing is weird, and shortly there after Shark is contacted by old acquaintences that need help in killing a clone or an alien. The nature of the threat is not quite determinable, because it is close to human, but not human. Shark kills a bunch of them. Then one of the old acquaintences, who happens to be a powerful telepath, sets them on the road to New York. It is on the road to New York that time stops. A great deal of experimentations follow as the runners attempt to determine the new rules of physics in this time stop. Phase three ends when the time stop ends, shortly after recovering Zona and making the aliens holding New York disappear. Both events are tied to the runners' use of the first Sword of Destiny, which they discover the Physical Mainfestation Of The Sword (PMOTS) by following the directions in an instance dungeon in the game The World.

Phase Four starts when the time begins again, because with time beginning again, so does their search for all the other swords begin. Phase four is still underway. Phase four ends when a Dr. Payne is killed by hypersonic ramming by Sparks.

Phase Five starts immeadietly after that.
