Game Site:

Age Me On

Synopsis:

As a game, this was a ton of fun to run. It revolved around the characters being "played" in a grand game of chess between the gods. Hence the name 'chessmaster'. In a somewhat unweildly model for a game I read about basing a game on another game, so I took one of the great games in chess history, Bobby Fischer versus Boris Spassky. Being only a novel chess player myself, and by novel I mean a total hack ameteur, some of the significance of moves is lost on me but I tried not to let that hinder the game, because the players still had free will of course, so they couldn't be exactly made to do what the pieces were doing. I never told them what piece (or pieces) they were and I don't intend to. haha... as if I could remember.

Memorable Moments

Jeff:

1) Og hated everyone, it was a pleasure to watch such hatred in action.

2) After getting through a fight where Og had taken over three times his number of hit points in damage (but never fallen thanks to the healing power of Tia), Mynn the Sorcerer 6/Monk 1 turned to the Druid/Cleric Tia and asked "Hey, I got hurt bad in that fight, can I have some healing?" Tia asked "How much?" Mynn said "Um, about 10 points." Brian's character (whose name escapes me) shouts "ME TOO!!" and then while pointing at his left forarm continues "THREE POINTS!" Tia mumbled "I hate all of you." She was out of spells anyways, and Brian's guy really had only taken 3 points of damage, that monk was completely untouchable.

3) Justin's guy died, and Brian starts yelling "Killer GM" at me. So Tia reincarnates him as a Hawk (she was a druid). Then they make their way to Silverymoon where the high lady Allustrial turns him back into a human using Polymorph or something. He then asks her "Can you make me a sprite or something, they're more powerful" LOLZ all around.

4) Cory made Tia as a dual class Druid/Cleric at first level, nevermind the fact that both are not favored classes of Halflings which she was. Well he had more spells than god in the early levels, and he extoled his own virtues long and loud. But it soon dawned on him that he would never see the higher level spells given a regualr campaign length. So then he started biching about that. Long and loud. It was lucky for him that gods dying was part of the game, and well I killed off a Halfling god or two cuz they're the weakest of the gods. Which made him mad!!! He got to convert all of his levels of one class into levels of the other at no cost and he was mad!!! wtf. there is no pleasing some people...

Pawn to Queen Four Knight to King Bishop Three

1) The Company find themselves and the hammlet of Jalanthar taken prisoner by the thug Darren Juilfs, known as the Black Adder. Early in the Month of Storms, with him is prisoner Sage Yolaf Kortas, from Waterdeep, and the vile mage Nexil the Terrible. With him are over thirty cavalry and footmen. The group is able to take action and save the ones who go off to dig. Dig for what? they aren't sure. But after defeating them and returning to Jalantahr, they meet up with the well known rangers and woodsmen of the hammlet and free the town.

2) With a few prisoners of tight lips, and a charmed town militiaman, the company meet Sage Tweet and his Trusty Mule Garnak. From them they laern that a elf portal stone was being dug for. With the hammlet dwarf and some stout bodies, they march off to the dig site and spend the next two days digging. By the end of that day, they find the twenty foot diameter stone which is a foot and a half thick. The next morning it is out of the hole and Sage Tweet is examining it. Myn finds the adamantium box and a key within. Hiding the box and key in Jalanthar, they strike out for Everlund, and after a four day trip they arrive, to stay at the Seeking Arrow.

3) Tess, the firndly bar maid says that she recognizes that Adder guy and says he was looking for Avim. A bit of research revelas the House of Avim, the sage's house. They find it ransacked, and beat down two lackies of a crime lord. The lackies are looking for Avim. They stash the dead lackies body and Tia takes a pile of scrolls whih Og is to return to the inn with, but he gets rolled in the street by some theives and relieved of all his gear and the scrolls.

Later Tweet arrives in the city and gives them the key and box to watch. He tells them about the number three hundred and thirty three.

The Company then got to see Lord Baggis, the crime lord, and a collector of antiques. Triplet and twin thugs show up using repeating crossbows, and a fight at his house breaks out. One vase is stolen and another like it is broken, revealing a strange drawing on the inside and a pile of ruby dust.

4) After the meeting with Baggis, Myn learns of a sorcerer who will give him the requisite material to attract a familiar, and Donwyn gets his spiked chain enchanted. After Myn gets what he needs from Kail at the south gate, Donwyn what he needs from Warez, at the Shop of Warez, and Og is flashed by Eleshiva, they leave. They march all day and then some to get to the hills. The next day Eleshiva leads and they check the tops of many hills before they find the falled stone. With the book having 333 pages, and a large stairs behind the hill, they look around step 333 and find an entrance. No larger than a small man, Tia leads in. Og has a hard time fitting. Inside they find clerics of Cyric doing foul work on a insidious device. They attack and kill some guards, but the Cyricist leader swings the contraption at them and pulls a lever. Instead of firing, it explodes; obliterating him, hurint Eleshiva, and scattering bits of underlings all over the rest of the group. They recuse the Save Avim then and return to Everlund the next day.

5) Waking up the next morning everyone goes about their business. Everyone except Tia that is. Some hours later the Company learns that she is missing when a boy delivers a ransom message. It read, "Come to Waterdeep in twenty days. Bring the key or Tia dies, to the Wench Street Warehouse." The next morning the group departs and makes it to Olsten's Hold by the end of the day. There they meet a friendly gentleman/knight named Sir Derek who offers to pay them to be his gaurds. He needs more for the long trip to Waterdeep. The group accepts, but part company after a day because the wagons are going too slow. They then push the horses on a make it to Waterdeep in sixteen days. Once there they go to a Gnomish Locksmith and get a copy of the key made. Then they try to search around the warehouse and delve into the sewers. There they fight a gray ooze, Og and Eleshiva a hurt and they can't kill it. Much lying is done to the city guard, and some poorly by Myn.

6) Still with a few days to go, they go to Balthor's Rare and Wondrous Items, and get the key engraved. They stay at the Jade Jug. They seek help from the clerics of Lathander, but little follow up occurs. Myn also meets Sir Derek at the Cyranosure (the non-denominational temple to all other dieties in Waterdeep), and he says he staying at Sylvia's Festhall. Another day is wasted in the sewers, but in the evening they meet the Druid Lialac. Then the day before the meeting they move to the Dock Ward at the Ship's Prow, and pick up the keys. Og has spent much of his time at brothels, Eleshiva most of hers getting drunk, Donwyn spends his training on Mount Waterdeep, and Myn with his new lover ... err, familiar chipmunk Myrkin. On the day of the meeting they head into the sewers, are met by several roguish looking types and do the trade with the fake keys. They get Tia out and then rush back into the room and kill all the rogues. From them they get a money note, and Eleshiva goes to the 'House of Change' to trade it for cash from the owner and proprieotor Jurish Ulhammond. They then pickup Avik's (the lead rogue) payment in the Melody walk, where it is hidden in the ceiling. Og is also picked up by Aletha and Jhoysil, and taken back to the Purple Silks Festhall, for a wild evening. The next day they meet up with Carolyas, of the city watch wizards and do a couple ops in the city against other Druid Kidnappers. Eleshiva also starts what would become a long running relationship with the Bards College and the temple to Oghma, where she researches for many nights that the Philosopher stone is under the Crumbling Stair and that it can be unlocked with the Key to activate the portal.

Castle Knight to Bishop Three

7) Now into the Month of Melting, they spend several days wasting away time, and Og does much whoring, especially at the Three Pearls Nightclub. They also look into Tia's missing memories, and talk to Carolyas about determining Tia's identity. They also look for mercenary work. The Court of the White Bull, leads to little but trading work and livestock herding work. The Virgin's Square has lots of mercs but little work. Bowels of the Earth, in the Trade ward looks promising and they find a young noble in the Durinbold Family who is willing tot pay to have faimly jewels returned. He wants the jewels recovered from a Theif sorcerer named Sarla, who resides at Gournor's Tavern in the Sea Ward. The company searches them out, trails them, and then breaks into the inn. Six are there, and two others are at the Wandering Wemic. The two they capture, and take into the sewers, but they make a mad break to escape and are summarily killed. The next day they go back to the Prow and prepare for that night when they will take the others.

They then sneak in, club the desk girl, and go to the fourth floor, and get the gems. They tell Sarla to leave the city and never return. Eleshiva then completes her reesearch and finds the Crumblind Stair in the fallen lands. She also gets maps of the area, Og gets several wagons, and the rest of the group prepares in general. They then start an eight day journey by wagon, and fight several hobgoblins, and Eleshiva tracks them into the forest and they find their home but it is deserted.

After the prolonged fight, many are wounded and they have no healing, as Tia has inexplicably lost all her spells. But she heals the old fashioned way, it just takes a couple days longer. After a couple days of rest, they continue on their way and leave the forest, cross the plains, and get to the moors. In the night, while looking for the Crumbling stairs they are attacke by two waves of over eight skeletons and destory them all. In the fight though, their horses are killed and they nearly destory the wagon, so they go the rest of the way on foot. Tracks of lead to outside an old mansion. Again they spend a couple days healing after the fight, and then move out to the mansion. Inside they fight the ghost of Alougar Nesme. In fighting it, it takes over the bodies of Tia and Eleshiva, though Og and Donwyn resists. The company retreats out and takes another try the following day. Eleshiva tries to plead with it to let them help it, and then tries to appeal to it's noble side, but the vile undead will have none of it. Eventually they do something to it, and it doesn't return. Eleshiva also discovers the location of the Philosophers stone, but then a standoff with Sir Derek results. Og, Tia, and Myn are all taken at spearpoint because they were unconscious from the fight with the Ghost. Donwyn was will to let them kill Myn, but couldn't bear to see the other's die. Tia is also found to be a clone, as she is tied up on a stretcher. Eleshiva is resistant but eventually they turn over the Stone for their friends. They are then sealed in a stone room and Derek makes his escape. The celinign starts to drop, and they have less than a minute to solve a riddle, or they all would have died. But they manage and the celining stops dropping. Two tunnes also drop great distances into the ground and allow access to underground caverns that take them to far outside the mansion. Donwyn kills the clone, and they wait for everyone to wake.

8) While trying to get out from the underground tunnel, they fight a glittering gem golem. It aparently killed past adventureres and they find several magic items. Including a horn of Fog. But Tia, the real Tia?, is able to destroy it with a shatter spell of sonic power. The next day they get out and hike back to the wagon, which has been reduced to a pile of ash by Derek.Four days later they are back in Waterdeep after much hiking, and stay again at the Prow. Og spends the day on a date with the blondes from the House of Purple Silks, and Eleshiva goes to tell her great tale at the Bards college, where she has many appreciative listeners.

9) Now into the month of Flowers, Tia starts having dreams; dreams of the forest burning, dreams of gem golems climbing a mountain, dreams of a thief climbing a vine covered moon shaped dome under a full moon. Donwyn trains with two elves on Mt. Waterdeep for the first time, Savars of the Order of Shararash, the Elven God of Vengence, and Eldoren, of the Order of Magic Fist. Tia, begins having a hard time sleeping because of the dreams the next day, and they only get worse. The Company spends some time at the Fields of Triumph, do a good deal of gambling, and even a bit of winning. Eleshiva is also visited in the night for the first time by Jurisk Ulhammond.

10) Elishiva misses her period, and is stopped by a Bard on her way out of town with dreadful news about the use of the Philosopher Stone, and how it will raise the Nation and Flying Cities of Netheril. The rest of the Company does a bit of betting and fighting in the Fields of Triumph. They do a bit of shopping too at Waterdeeps magic shops: GeGnomes Illusions, Illustrae's Magic Emporium, and Old Latrobe. Eleshiva picks up a Darksteel Dagger and an Adamantium Everbright Dagger. Donwyn is also approached by a crazy old lady, who is actually his wife, telling him that their son Devon is sick with the plague in Waterdeep's poor district.

11) Og hooks up with two women: Jhoysil, a hot chic blonde twin he met at the Purple Silks, and Jahli a woman built like a refrigerator with a head. Eleshiva meets with more bards seeking information and Myn talks with Lou, the viscious sex offender to learn secrets of the trade at the Bards college. They then plan and leave the next day. Eleshiva and Myn talk about love, and he sings a poem for her. She spurns him and says go away. Donwyn and Jhoysil spar, and he suspects her of ill intensions.

12) The next five days on the road go well, until afternnon by the evermoors, where an Aurmvorax attacks and kills the horse Myn is riding, it is one of Og's. They also loose Donwyn's horse. But some friendly Dwarves on a wedding hunt offer to buy the hide and teeth from them, and they they are on their way. The company gets to Everlund two days later and visit Avim's. No one is there, but they are attacked by thirty Zombies, which spill out into the street and start killing civillians. Avim taunts them saying he will have more waiting later. But the group does help contain them as the city guard arrives. Back at the Inn, Og has a talk with Johysil and Jahli, which is about screwing both of them, as he hasn't had sex it nine days. They are both stunned. Myn offers to fix the situation by taking Jhoysil, since Og said he could have her. She leaves crying, then Jahli says some mean things to Og, and Og nearly rips Myn a new one for Myrkin. But Og just sleeps in the barn. Myn tries to find Jhoysil, but can't and suspects her of ill intentions. Tia's dreams worsen, and she begins taking herbal extract to sleep.

13) The Company leaves on the seventeenth day. Heading east for the desert of Aunaroch. Going north of the High Forest, the rain starts and Jahli gets the shivers. Jahlie gets worse and Og gets the shivers. Soon they are crossing the headwaters of the great rivers down south, when they are woken by an earthquake on the twenty-third day. Then on the twenty-seventh day there are great volcaones, and the city raises. They are also ambushed by a Bulet' and Kills Og and his horse before the company kills it. Soon they spot a canal and follow it north to a gigantic pit, on par with parts of the Grand Canyon. They cast a fly, and in the darkness of the ash and dust, find a flying city. Everyone is shuttled up and back by a Fly potion. Eleshiva and Jahli kill off a crew of a boat and take it. The rest of the company start reconing the giant island on foot.

14) Still on the city they climb an 8000 foot hill, and search out wizard towers that are just barely sticking out from the desert of sand. They fight a helmed horror, but don't defeat it and cannot find entrance to it's tower. So they go to a second tower and Myn starts scouting. He spots sixty or more on hippogriff back and a chase ensues that finds the company running for it and making a quick get away as the dim rays of the sun set and they hide on the boat below the edge of the city.

On the first day of summertide they try to find another boat, but encounter stronger mages and fail to capture it as it self destructs. Though they do capture one mage and then head back to Silverymoon. The whole time on the city, whenever a spell was cast by Tia, Myn heard voices of dark meaning and scary content.

15) In the northern reaches of the Far Forest they stop and drop off Chomp, Tia's long time animal companion whom she trades for Wings the hippogriff. The next day they make it to Silverymoon and six griffons come out to meet them and question them about their flag, which is that of the nation of Nethril. Captain Isc-exus is friendly though and stands around for the interrogation of Apar "The Foul", who Tia charms. He shoots magic missiles at everyone else though, and then he commits suicide. They meet various people in town, Tia meets the Treemaster, and tells him her story in exchange for performing the service of raising Og. Donwyn also goes to the temple of Correlon, and talks to Xambar the High One, who has his Divine Seekers open the chest that was found on the boat, and was meant to be payment to Orc tribes to the east. Myn has the navigation insturments appraised at Palass' the Cartogropher's where he meets his love Jossed. Eleshiva gets drunk and then cries her eyes out as Og is raised. Myn does some poking around the window's of the cartographers looking for Jossed at night, but doesn't find her. She busts him in the morning for his perversions, but says it is ok. They spend two days flying to Waterdeep and park the ship at the Aerie, and are invited to a meeting in the Castle. They attend and it is hosted by Peirgerion the Open Lord of Waterdeep, Madeiron his Champion, Khelban Blackstaff, his Consort Lareal, Asper the wife of Mirt, Mirt the Moneylender, Jurisk whom they know, Rennen Aelorothi an elven scout from Evermeet, Jhoysil, Oliver of the Watchwizards, and Lady Triel of the Nobles Council. There they tell what they know and are treated kindly. Eleshiva puts her tale telling ability to good use and gain the group the good will of the hosts. Myn sorta blows it when he questions the loyalty of people Khelban has in the room, mainly Jhoysil. Og sorta stands in the back and hopes he doesn't have to speak, which he doesn't. Donwyn learns of an attack that nearly destroyed Evermeet by the Drow, and the Eater of Souls, the greates of the beasts of Malar. After the meeting Eleshiva stays and is inducted to a secret group in Waterdeep and told that Harper training awaits her when she is ready, though this transgresses out of earshot of the Company; in Blackstaff tower. Tia rounds up all unknown magic items and Myn goes with Larela to have them identified in exchange for her telling him about his voices. Og tries to confront Jhoysil, and offers for her to stab him, she rebuffs him, and then leaves with Mirt.

16) Myn goes to Blackstaff tower and spends the day with Lareal as Bre, Alena Paladinstar, and Wea identify the groups items. Og and Tia go to the Temple of Tempus, and Og receives training by Zeac, the 12-weapons guy, and Oruntar the 15-weapon guy to become a member of the Order of the Steel Wind. Tia buys a bunch of magic weapons for the group. Kar, the Dwarf, who is heading the expedition calls Eleshiva and Donwyn to his office and they discuss the upcoming campaign and the Company's part in it. Donwyn trains with the two elves the next day on the hill, and buys gifts for the three elves in the city who are selling their houses that they could find. A walking stick, a knapsack and journal, and a book of proverbs. Eleshiva hears rumors of the Endless dungeon and the Mage fighting sword. The group looks at houses and decides on one. Eleshiva spends some time at the temple of Oghma and visited by Jurisk, who warns her of rogues in the night that crossed the city walls. Kar gathers his group of experts for the campaign, including Jhoysil and Jurisk; Bruno and some mercs; Tun and his clerics of Tyr; Gur Lighter and a number of Gnomish Artificers; Master Vickers and city Watchwizards; Rennen Aelorothi and some elven scouts (Cedar, Maple, Weirwood, Oak, Teak, and Grape.) That night the Inn is attacked, they're struck by assassins, and the inn collapses into a great pit killing most inhabitants. It is then set fire and they race to escape. Temples to Mielikki, Silvanus, and Tia are also attacked. The groves burn, but Tia is O.K. The next morning, they are loading the boat and preparing to leave, when a vast force of over three hundred attack and the specialists are ambushed outside the aerie. The barn of hippogriffs is destroyed in an explosion, the aerie is taken, but the second explosive wagon is destroyed before it can hit the boat. Eventually the groups turn back the attackers and leave for Silverymoon. Two days later they arrive.

17) Eleshiva tries to leave the Silverymoon acceptance ceremony early, but Kar sternly orders her to show some manners and the ceremony continues. She then goes to talk to High Mage Overtarn, who she learns has replaced the former ruler "Thunderspell" Hornblade who was assassinated earlier in the week. She is declared an adult and takes Og as a dependent for legal reasons. Tia talks with the Treemaster and buys a number of items. Eleshiva then invites the group to meet her family, and they all go to visit her father, brother and sister. She tells Og of her family history.

In the morning, outside her tent is an old friend, Ilthan, whom she trained with under Morella and his nine Drow companions who all want to follow Eleshiva. Og and Donwyn spend the day dropping off troops in the boat and then stop off in Jalanthar and tell Melissa and Devon to return to Waterdeep. Eleshiva and her followers investigate mages, and tales of the mage killing blade. Soon they find references to it last being seen in the High forest and the group heads there. Donwin is pissed at the large number of Drow, but consents to allow one, Zazleche the adept to come with, and the rest go to guard Elshiva's house. Tia attracts a Dire Badger as another animal companion.

18) The Grand druid finds their camp and walks in to sit beside them somewhat unnervingly as no one was sure when he walked up or sat down. He says it is a one person quest for the Mage Killer. He can show where the journey is to start, but cannot accompany the person nor can anyone else. It is for the harper mother of the future king, in the year of the Unstrung Harp (the current year), to bear the child on Mount Unicorn in the heart of the High Forest when the Red Planet aligns with the Seven Stars. He shall be the new ruler. The group will wait for Eleshiva for ten days, and then return to Silverymoon. All ten days pass and they leave. While waiting for Eleshiva to return they take on missions for Kar, including to attack differnt caravans. The first, directed by Rennen's elves, is to attack a skeleton caravan and destroy it. It is thirteen mages quarding hundred of skeletons and potential zombie corpses in wagons. They kill everything but two mages, who escape.

19) Kar keeps them busy until the day of Midsummer. They attack caverns with the Gnome Artificers and take on herds of careon crawlers. Then they hook up with Rennen and fight columns of Orcs until they are driven out by powerful Orc scouts while hiding in the mountains. They are being debriefed as Eleshiva walks into Kar's keep. She then tells them the whole story. They learn of an upcoming battle that looks like it will take place at Turnstone Pass, which is the easiest access to Sundbar.

They choose to harrass the enemies backfield as Kar goes to brace up Sundabar with his specialists. They find a caravan, kill the rear guard orcs and then pass it, and wait in ambush. Killing nearly at will, the biggest problem is the caravan's large number of archers. But Myn takes care of those with his wand of fireballs. Things look good until lightning bolts and fireballs, and ice storm cones start hitting group members by invisible attackers. They wipe out the first quarter of the convoy, as the rear portions prepare a defense on the narrow road. As the group rushes them, the whole convoy and the group are struck by meteor swarms. It obliterates the entire caravan, and leaves the group shocked and stunned, and searching for retreat. But they are not attacked again, and move off for pickup by the boat. They pass eight days making items and resting, when they learn that the battle of Turnstone Pass has begun. One of the last mages in the city is preparing a Teleport Circle as the battle is going baddly. Everyone, including Tia who drops the item she is in the middle of making, move off to go help with the battle.

20) The company arrives late on the first day of the battle of Turnstone Pass, and things are going badly. It would become known as the God's War because of the appearance of many Avatars and Investments of Power at the battle. Grumnsh, his son Bahgtru, Hruggek the Bugbear god of war, Talos, Beshaba, Malar, and Gargos were on the side of the dark forces. Tempus and the Red Knight made an appearance, but could not be made to join the fray. Clangeddin Silverbeard (Dwarf god of War), Gaeroal Ironahnd (Gnome god of War), and Gaweron Windstrom were fighting against them. Earlier in the day, Gond, and Ilmater had shown up to try and stop the fighting, but both disappeared before they could bring about a peace.

The Company rushed to the battle and through the use of awesome magic, were able to take flight and destroy over a dozen of the Nethril flying boats, and many more mages before they returned to cover. While Clangeddin and Gaeroal held the pass in front of a Prismatic Wall, the Company rearmed, remagiced, and the wounded were evacuated. They rejoined the fight and took down more boats and mages. Alustriel showed up with support mages just before the rush and took some fire off of the company. Finally though they were forced to retreat in front of the awesome weight of the enemy assault. The five mile hike down the mountain was long before they reached the strong point to hold the road.

21) The group rests the remainder of the day, amid a flurry of activity at the base of the mountain. Og helps in fortifying, Donwyn goes scouting, and Tia turns into a bird. Donwyn witnesses Rennen fight to the death hodling the pass, and then retreats down the hill. The enemy move down the hill and fortify the pass. That evening everyone sleeps semi-restfully, except Tia. She toss and turns in her sleep as her goddess' dying image comes to her. Shelia is slewn by Malar in beast form; when she awakens she no longer has any cleric levels or abilities.

In the morning Og sends a letter to the battlemaster in Waterdeep saying he has failed. The group then gathers, gets some healing, then depart on the boat for Netheril. The eight hour trip is uneventful until they near the former desert. Green is beginning to grow, and above it they spy two flying forts. They veer towards the northern one, and flying at a very low altitude, they get within a quarter mile before aerial mounts move to intercept them. An aerial battle ensues and the party comes up ahead just as the boat is passing over the tower. The group flies off, and lands on the tower roof. Og, Eleshiva, and Donwyn immeadietly attack the archers that were shooting at the boat, then are overrun as the Orcs rush to help the other Orcs. Tia's pair of charmed hippogriffs jump into the fray as well and slay one or two orcs before they too are brought down. Myn 'the useless', as Og would refer to him, starts floating around invisibly and looking for a way in, instead of helping his friends who are dying. Tia turns the tide by healing Og, and launching a flame strike. Though the Orcs use some healing potions on themselves they are defeated and the party survives. They then try to find a way in and get out the picks and sledges to bash in the roof. But a foursome of Helmed Horrors arrive and begin to dish out the pain. The first two charge the diggers and the last two shoot with heavy crossbows. Soon the first two are put down, but then Myn tries a dispel magic. The last two charge him and kill him. They are then destroyed and the group camps on the floating tower.

22) The company wakes in the morning and decides to resume the assault on the tower. After praying and studying spells, they descend momentarily to where Tia is reincarnating Myn. By the time they arrive it is almost complete and he is brought back as an Eagle. Og is freaked out and exclaims, "NEVER. BRING. ME. BACK. LIKE. THAT!!!" Myn squacks a bit, but then they return to the tower with a tree and try dropping it on the tower. The first one hits, but explodes into a ball of splinters, obliterating Myrkin who had been left on the tower since Myn's death. It doesn't really hurt the tower and only releases an Iron Golem. The party fights hard, and several of them are wounded nearly to death, but they overcome in the end. They rest that night on the ground and see reinforcements arrive at the tower in the distance. In the night they are attacked by Manifestations of Malar, and four of the Clawed Attackers run rampant through their camp and again nearly kill a few of the party, and do manage to kill several followers. In the morning, they write the tower off and return to Silverymoon. They share the intelligence they gathered with the Lord Mage Protector, and then resupply for another trip out. Jahli has been resurrected, and Og is joyfully reunited with her in a hugging Refrigerator scene. Myn discusses with the Lord Mage Protector a Polymorph other, and the Mage agrees to turn Myn into a Sprite.

23) The following morning after the company revives from their night time slumber, Og heads to the castle to speak with the mages regarding his plan to become a mage-killer. He is suprised to meet Khelban Blackstaff and is shortly gated to Waterdeep with Khelban, whom he speaks with and then undergoes the gauntlet at the temple of Tempus for leaving the Order of the Steel Wind. He is flogged and beaten, but makes it out. Eleshiva, who had been drinking all night, and Donwyn who had been training all morning met shortly after sunrise and went searching for Og, then meet up with him outside of the temple of Tempus. They too had gotten Gated in from Silverymoon to take care of business. They all return to the house and being some renovations. Melissa, the mother of Donwyn's half-elf child is put in charge and the group rests (in the case of Og) or goes to the castle to speak with Khelban or Pergeriron (in the case of Eleshiva and Donwyn). Myn back in Silverymoon has asked Jossed to marry him, she accepted, and has been thrown out of her father's house by virtue of Myn's nervousness at meeting her father. But they're happy and plan a wedding. Tia is off studying spells and doing drugs to learn new spells.

Eventually they all get back together in Silverymoon about two days later, and after some disclosures by Myn that he is getting married, they head out for Sundbar to help break the siege the city is under. They know Kar is in the city and other forces are planning to break the siege, but they take little or no pains to find or communicate with either forces. But they do head out and make good time. About five miles from the city, while traveling by boat at night, they debark and head in to attack the besiegers. The camp around the city holds tens of thousands, but they approach undaunted. After a mile of travel they are spotted and followed by six Huge Athach's, but they turn the ambushers into ambushees and wipe them all out with the aid of Tia's Huge Dire Wolves. Departing rapidly they leave Myn to search the dead's bodies while invisible, but this leaves him no way to find them. He knows nothing about the wilderness and has no means to communicate with them, or find them. Eventually though Tia's wolves smell him and alert her. She has them howl, and he homes in on the howling, and they meet up to camp luckily.

Bishop takes Rook Pawn to Bishop Three

24) Gathering in the woods west of the siege, the company decides to send Donwyn and Eleshiva in on foot to scout out the enemy camp, and to have Tia and Myn fly in to contact Kar and the command structure. Donwyn and Eleshiva scout successfully. Eleshiva slanders Sir Derek, and Donwyn leaves a counter offer of a fight before departing. Eleshiva also disentegrates a diviner and takes his crystal ball, as well as a bunch of wands, some scrolls and a pail of potions. She then departs. Tia flies into the city. Myn does as well and begins a series of bungled encounters. First with street guards whom he threatens and says he in the city to kill people. Then when he's taken to the jail, the threats continue along the lines of 'I could just kill you all' or 'I could just escape'. But he doesn't do either as they put him in a cage. Myn can't remember the name of Kar or anyone else in the command structure. Minutes later when Bruno arrives cursing and swearing he orders Myn to follow him. They do and go to the Fort of Kar. Myn shares some information with them, but Tia fills in the blanks. Soon it is discovered that the siegers will attack vigerously at dawn the next day, and countersiegers from the north east will commence at an hour after dawn. Myn says he will stay and sleep to gain his spells and Tia will fly back to the group.

The group reforms when Tia arrives and mount up on her wolves for a lightning fast run around the north side of the city and the siegers. They arrive at the rally point and are met by some elf scouts. Soon they are brought through the middle of an elf army, and in the center find Rennen and a score of elf casters wielding staves. Some spells are cast and soon the whole army is moving at double speed towards battle. Rennen identifies a score of potions and some wands while moving in. The group spells up, some potions get passed out, and then battle is joined under a barrage of elven arrows that darken the sky.

The group heads for one of the giant siege towers. The tower is over a hundred feet high and eighty feet on a side at it's base. They charge in, and head for the stairs. Donwyn commences a rush to the top, while the others wade through the orc footmen and their leaders. A stone giant poses some problems until Rennen hits it with a Chain Lightning. Eleshiva and a new elf friend of Rennen's make short work of hordes of Orc footmen and Og faces off against many of the leaders and sergeants of the Orcs taking all down that he faced.

With the first four floors cleared, and Donwyn on the roof they prepare to make a rush into the more heavily armored troops on the upper stories.

Knight to Rook Five Knight to Queen Three

25) The company completes their rush to the top of the tower, breaking the back of the assault, as Druno and Myn clear off the city wall. They meet on the bridge of the siege tower and kill the last Ogres. Rennen distributes the wealth from the fight that Downy, and Og and others from the city had cleaned up. The company then spends a day in Silverymoon, returns to Waterdeep for a couple days to look up on the house, and then back again to Silverymoon for Myn's wedding. He likes the presents they got him very much; the house Jossed especially likes, as well as the bracelet of friends, and the scroll of sending.

King to Queen Three Bishop to Queen One

26) The company does lots of shopping in the City of Spelndors with their newly found wealth. Upon their return to Sundabar, which the coordinated with Kar, they took place in the assault on Turnstone Pass. Tia was out napping, and with Myn married, it left only Donwyn, Og, and Eleshiva to assault a mage tower. They asked for, and got, the aid of two other powerful persons in Sundbar. First, the Mage Odnous, and second the Cleric of Lathander, Constance. The five of them prepared spells, and then secured a Teleport Circle from another mage taking place in the assault. The arrived on the roof of the tower, Odnous Passwalled them in, and then the battle commenced. Two master sorcerers were leading groups of three assistants in the construction of two giant Iron Golems. There was also a shield guardian, the four gargoyles. But all of this proved little opposition to the party. Their part successful, the rest of the assault went well, and the enemy was driven from the pass and back to Aunaroch.

The North was secure for the time being, and thus ended the campaign.
