    • Citizens of Sawdust are alerted of trouble as a riderless horse enters town, injured.  Following the trail, they find a messenger from Copper Valley, being eaten by jackalopes.  Riding to Copper Valley, to investigate reports of a mysterious train that came out of the mine, they fight off the last remnants of Copper Valley, who had become the Walking Dead.  With evidence that the train's engine had continued on to Sawdust, they rode hard, and arrived in the midst of the undead invasion.  While managing to kill the undead master, it was not before most of the town's population had died.  With nothing more keeping them tied to Sawdust, they boarded the train, to head towards its next destination, the City of Lost Angels.

    • The Cincinnati Kid is on a mission.  The lone survivor of one too many scrapes, he's acquired himself a train in a very high stakes hand of poker, now he's picked up a posse, and he's gonna see if he can make good on his mission before it's too late.

Synopsis:

Legend tells of a black train that rides the rails of its own accord.  With an untenable purpose, it crosses the land, carrying its passengers from another place, and quite possibly, another time.  It's called, the Dead Reckoning.  For neither good nor evil, the train's purpose seems to reflect those of its riders.  Currently operated by the Cincinnati Kid and his posse, they'll ride the rails of mystery, unsure where the next stop will be.

End never happened - but this was going to be the video shown at the start of the final session - Deadland Finale.mp4

Unravel the threads of Fate - For the remainder of the turn, and the complete following turn, force a re-roll on any die roll (for PC or NPC) once.  This can be performed once per die-roll, and the decision of the one who spent the chip.  Fate Chips can be spent afterwards as usual.

#11

OOC (2010): I have a desire to run a deadlands one shot.  I might consider running more, depending on how it works, for either all fresh characters, or keeping the original characters to let them advance.  This is a work in progress, and may never happen.  But, it's in my head, and it had to get out.

OOC (2015): I've decided to run this as a campaign - other than the train, though, it won't really relate to the one-shot from 2010.

The Characters from the One Shot:

Ryan W.  James McIntyre Gunslinger 6
  Hattie Greenwood Sharpshooter 5
  Dr. Simon London Doctor 5
  Rebecca Summer Teacher 5
Jeff  Mike Scout, Fighter, and Shootist
  Helga Johansen Frontier Widow 5
David  Danny Blake Gambler 6
Lanica  Rowan Whately Witch 8
Cory  Dr. Harold Eastwick Inventor 5
  Imogene Eastwick Alchemist 5
