Session 3/29/09

Tuesday. 2072.

We get a message from a Orc, Don Consquillo wants to meet us at Marsell's at 4:00pm. Its in the Sioux Sector. Orc has single gold tooth.

Meet Johnson at hopping joint. Miguel, the orc, is in back alley. Ugly grey suit. Motions us in back door. Through the kitchen. Small dining area in back, one way glass, see main area. Serving staff are in various states of undress, including tails, fur, skin, etc. Semi-fine dining, but not a family place. Old latino w/o enough hair for a comb over. Rastafarian is his bodyguard. Some more latino guys are distracted by scenery.

We sit. He orders food, big deep dish pizza, spicy fries, and beer. For all of us. Don takes his food and starts talking. He's lookin for help. One of his men are being held for murder, trouble at LuCom. Dean has had trouble in the past, for hacking activities. He's been loyal, like grandson to the Don, and the Don trusts him. His girlfriend was killed at LuCom, along with a security guard. He gives a scream sheet to us. Don doesn't believe Dean did it.

Is asking for help clearing his name, and or getting the name of who did it. 2k now, 9k sum when done.

Job:

* Clear Dean's name. Bring Don proof to allow lawyer to get him out.

* Deliver a message to those that did this that it was a really bad idea.

Dreg calls lawyer of Dean Costello, and says hes going in to talk to him at the police station.

Skimmer and Moon are gonna go to Dean's apartment.

Myst is gonna do web search.

Need to talk to Miguel about Dean's presence the day of the murders.

Grudge to talk to Dean in office.

Moon/Skim cross to Hub. Myst crosses to Hub. Me/Grudge cross, I get stuck with 300 fee.

Grudge and I find a run down place in the CAS from the 2030, for 50 a night. I pay for 3 nights.

Moon Skimmer go to Deans. A squirrel fled, they leave. They find out its hacker heavy, so bring in Myst. She works through the night and gets into his network with security level access. His network icon is ruby, a cut stone. Shes looking through the security logs, something was here. Nothing related specifically to the squirrel or the coffee pot. Some agent was here it looks like, but it doesn't look like its currently going on. They might have interrupted a probe. She tries to get his itenerary. He was hanging around, a few meets with "family" members, but nothing big. Nothing weird about her itenerary either. Most of it was at Marsell's. She's getting his contact list. She gets the GF's contact list too. She makes a user account for herself: HX&529.

Wednesday

Dredge goes into the police station. His SIN lacks the creds to get his ware into the interogation room. So Miguel sets us up with a guy to get some fake liscenses. He gets them, goes back in. Dean puts forward he is totally innocent, wasn't there, and is being held on circumstatial evidence. His MO was to seduce women at places and use them to gain access to stuff. Dean is a mob hacker. He also calls the law firm and gets pictures and scans of the evidence. Nothing seems out of place. No murder weapon, no fingerprints, no DNA, no saliva of Dean at the scene. I call Miguel afterwards. He won't name anyone to substantiate Dean's location. He will provide people to lie if needed. Miguel doesn't know any specific traid'ers who might have pulled the job.

Someone is using Alice's Commlink to make purchases in Happy Canyon Mall, in CAS sector, at a shop called The Red Wire. We head to the mall and the mages summon spirits. Skimmer has her Air Elemental.

There are two Triad gangs in the area. The white something and the red something.

Grudge leaves us for a new high fashion model elf named Victor. He's an intrusion expert, pretty boy, smart, and has two vehicles.

On the way to the Happy Canyon Mall.

Moon calls his Snitch contact who knows nothing. I call my Street Doc contact who says the crime scene looks legit but she isn't a photo doctorer. She say I can call later and bring money to have the Coroners Report.

The mall is a big piece of China. Some festival is going on in the Temple. Most shops except restaurants are closed because of the festival. Victor checks for mall security, but I see we're in gang territory, so they probably don't have any. Temple is big in the middle, stores are in a big U around it. Stores are two story. Six Golden Triangle triad guys show up and escort us out, saying this is a Invite Only temple function.

So we go back out to car. I'll watch 2 sides of store from car, Victor goes around other side. Skimmer goes astral and moves in. Victor is invisble watching the front and notices a order is made at the store for a delivery nearby UPS ground tomorrow. We decide we could go there and see if he person is there. Skimmer goes into the second story of the shop and see the fading life esence of a person on the floor. Looks a little longer and sees a second probably dead person.

Victor sneaks around building, I approach front gate. The six thugs are there again and they hit me once as I buy some time. They then walk me off the property. Inside the store Vic sees one dead guy in a pinstripe suit with a gunshot wound. He's local triad. Vic grabs the guys commlink, its already in hidden mode. First throught is the second guy died of a self inflicted wound. Face down, shot self in head. Vic takes his commlink too. The desktop is buying stuff using Alice's ID. A rabbit (in AR) hops out when he taps the keyboard, looks around, and then hops off through the wall. The two taken commlinks then flare up to active. Vic shuts them down. He tries to do some stuff.

The thugs talk into the mics, then shout at me "Get him." I say to crew "They're coming at me." Skimmer stunballs the group. Knocking them all out. I walk away. Triad guys surround the building and get ready to go in. Vic sneaks away, and the bike comes and picks me up. We rendevous away from there.

Victor is going to wear the commlink that we think took people over and made them kill themselves. He gets the sense it is a SimsenseBTL hot chip. The AR overlay is a flowery rolling hills with the music playing "Zippidy Doo Dah!" and its quite trippy.

The trippy music is coming from about the place that was getting the deliveries. The two commlinks on the dead guys were modified to accept BTL's. Skimmer goes ahead astrally and finds a big warehousey place. She goes in and assenses. We're driving towards in. There are about 9 people laying or standing around. All sorta blissed out. He circuits the building, no one outside really. A few in the alley though. This warehouse is in Englewood CA, still in the CAS sector.

The drugdealer SUV drives through the neighborhood. See no security on the building, a little gang stuff (not specifically triad related). Happy Face spraypainted on the building with tag Happiness is only a Smile Away. Guy is petting an AR rabbit in the alley. I get out of car and take his commlink, as soon as I remove it he starts screaming. I put it back on and he calms out. I get back in vehicle and we drive off. Guy is petting his bunny again.

Skimmer pieces together that the pieces being bought at Red Wire are able to be used to Hot Chip a commlink. We park the car a few blocks away. Vic takes one route in, I take another route. Stand in an alley by a backdoor smoking w/in sight of the warehouse. Vic approaches the building. He opens door and goes in. Smells urine and body odor. Chipheads are all over the place petting bunnies! All AR including bears and squirrels. A palace is what the building looks like in AR. The building asks if he wants friends, and tries to load a program on each of his commlinks. He says "No" to his personal link, and "Yes" to the stolen one he has. The bunny, is a little program. He analizes the bear too. Vic talks to the guys inside but they're non-responsive. No secured area, and just the computer in there.

Vic looks at the BTL but can't determine make or programmer. Vic looks into who is missing or if they were near other stuff. Its hard to place them, though two are on a missing list.

Later that afternoon we drive around the street that LuComm is on. One police blimp hovering overhead. Three story building in a small commercial building in Englewood. It is next to a coffee shop. Vic gets a popup spam, and then barraged with them, he lets vehicle take over. He tries to clear it. Skimmer and I look around for weird stuff.

Skimmer notices a guy at the Coffee shop wearing an armor jacket. He's watching us or at least has noticed. We get our coffees and sit. Skimmer sits and directs us to look at him. Dark hair, middle aged white male. He's armed. AR tells us his name is "Diamond." Vic goes up and talks to him. Towards evening. Vic PM's him. Detective Diamond walks over.

He sits with us. We talk with him. Skimmer clairvoyances outside to see if cops are coming to ambush us. She doesn't see that, but she sees a body in the alley. Skimmer goes to check the body cuz Diamond isn't looking at him. Smiley face trodes on the body of that bum. Vic sends him the image, Detective says we should leave. We do. Skimmer took the link, Vic checks it, and its another SIM rig.

Diamond calls us back and says the PAN ID's of the bums in the whse was checked, and 3 were in the area of LuCom. The CommLink from the guy in the alley was playing dramatic movie music. Vic gets tied down in the back of the SUV, he plugs into the commlink of the bum behind the coffee shop. He's taking us towards "a Star" over that way. We're going to Stout and 22nd Street in the CAS. Karakuchi is the big corp. Star is above the 2-story Karakuchi building. They're a software company that is a subsidiary of Renraku. We park by the coffee shops lot, and Skimmer goes to get coffee while we wait. Skimmer is going to go in while. Most are gangers, but one nicely dressed woman stands out. She uses the happy fun land voice. A persona of the woman in chain flys down in AR and roll initiative. A guard comes and AR skin on him is a demon. Crowd of ganger zombies attack him with knives and clubs.

I get out of car and crouch next to adjacent one in the parking lot drawing my pistol. Skimmer stunballs the lot of them.

A couple days later, the detective calls and tells us it was the woman. Then Don Cosquilo pays us. Basically he's very happy. Tina the Technomancer is killed in Jail by the Mob. But the Traids are mad with us.
