Prudence's mother died when she was young. Her father was an irish cop in Chicago. Prudence's father took her to ball games and did other 'raising a son' things with his only child. Prudence was the kind of girl who got into fistfights in grade school. Her father worked nights and occasionally ran into spooky things. He was what others might have called superstitious. He would discuss his harder cases with Prudence. When Prudence graduated from high school her great-aunt Prudence invited her to live in her drafty mansion in Minneapolis to help take care of her in her old age. Prudence got some scholarships to University of Minnesota school of Journalism.
Eventually Prudence's great-aunt passes away and leaves the drafty mansion to Prudence. Father probably also passed away or disappeared.

lost a point of sanity as she sees Parker run down with hs car a guy whose arm is on fire
Lost another point of sanity as she tries to navigate Parker's car off of the body... fails.... a few blocks later there is a bump as the body falls away from the bottom of the car
