Christine / From a Buick 8 / The Dark Tower

The PC's are in the lot, speaking about the Stephen King connections.  They notice a 1953 Buick Roadmaster trolling around the neighborhood but it drives off when they confront it.  PC's begin to connect all of the "Kings" that have recently entered their lives:

*  "The King's Bond" - the bond they put up for small time banger James White, street name, "The King".  Leader of the 520 Mob.

*  "The King's Agency" - the biggest PI firm in NYC. The Bail Bond Agency has had dealings with them in the past but nothing recent.

*  The Rose Tattoo graffiti found near where the Foxbat fliers were discovered.  The graffiti reading, "Rose Tattoo Will Save You".  PC's theorize Rose Tattoo is an alias for "Rose Madder" - another Stephen King novel.

*  Mateo's car - seems to have been magically awakened.  The car is in love with it's owner, Mateao.  Similar to the King novel "Christine".  Miranda and some of the other PC's immediately begin calling Mateao's car, "Christine:"

*  The 53' Buick Roadmaster that is trolling them - from a Stephen King novel called, "From a Buick 8".

Clearly some kind of magical event is unfolding around the PC's and the Bail Bond Agency 24-7 but PC's are unable to pin point why and where is it coming from.

PC's process the new information for a while but have to get back to their lives as ... bail bondsmen.   They pick up a few bonds, one of which gives them a spot of trouble - Tamika Johnsen - she goes quietly but she is a little beat up.  Her angry boyfriend is calling after her that she's a loser and a whore and will get what's coming to her when she gets out.

That's enough for Sam.  He goes inside, instigates a fight with the boyfriend (a fight he knows he can't lose) and busts the guy up a bit.  Intimidates him into leaving.  Mateao and the others leave and while they don't know exactly what Sam is doing to the boyfriend, they have a good idea.  They turn Tamika over to authorities, she goes quietly.

Mrs. Rush sends a nasty email memo to the Agency basically saying she is not happy that someone checks out the amulet twenty four hours per day.  She says the amulet and armor are there for on assignment jobs not personal use.  She demands PC's show some respect for their property.

Mr. Rush takes everyone out for dinner and clears up the Divine Styler / King's Bond.  He says that "The King" is a friend of Divine Styler and Divine Styler is Mr. Rush's friend.  Mr. Rush had to bail "The King" because Divine Styler couldn't get his hands dirty with that kind of paperwork.  Mr. Rush doesn't elaborate but it sounds like Divine Styler is an unregistered "power".  Anyway, Mr. Rush said not to worry about losing "The King" because Divine Styler would take care of it.

Mr. Rush tells you about Miranda's past - she was supposed to be a twin but her fetus became dominate and absorbed her sister. Miranda grew up with an imaginary friend and though she was tested for sorcerer talent, the mutant gene and telepathic abilities she came up negative.  The "imaginary friend" was just that.  When she was a teenager she started having horrible nightmares and headaches and went in for exploratory surgery. The surgeon found teeth and a partial face growing in Miranda's brain because Miranda hand not 100% absorbed the parasitic twin in utero.   The surgery was a success and Miranda had no further nightmares or headaches.

Jason points out that the parasitic twin story is basically the background of Stephen King's, "The Dark Half".

As of yet none of the PC's are reading much Stephen King.  Miranda has recently been seen in the office reading "Carrie and later "Christine".

The Chinese powers contact Jade and Sam and offer a deal.  Honor combat.  If the PC's win the Chinese will share information about the "Foxbat Fliers" they too received.  Jade and Sam are suspicious of the motives of the Chinese and, while they don't outright refuse the honor combat their hesitation frustrates the Chinese.  The Chinese flee and no honor combat occurs.

Later, the hacker mage, "Wizard of Oz" sends emails to the Agency and let all the PC's know, "Hey, it looks like PERK (the magic, mutating, personality drug) was

only targeted in three locations - Chinatown, Little Italy and Red Hook Brooklyn.  Despite advertising "Pantera" and "Firewing" there were never any other PERK personalities other than Foxbat.  And it was only delivered to three places.  A kid in Red Hook - Renny Gonzolez.  A kid in Chinatown - Kun Liu - A kid in Little Italy - Lorenzo Russo. Someone is trying to orchestrate a confrontation.  I also found hidden code that led me to a private server and a website that read, "And then I'm going to steal all the money in the world".  That's all it said, over and over.  I tracked the server to a corner on 20th and 1st Ave in Queens.  It had a a laptop and a server but the room was scrubbed clean and no further information was acquired".

Finally, as the PC's are on the corner (in front of the Agency)  having beers with Kirby (and his work friend Randall), a Buick Roadmaster and Mateo's car have a revving duel.  The Buick eventually drives off and then, a few blocks away, PC's hear screaming.

They rush off to investigate and find the Buick 8 with it's trunk open and a bunch of dead bodies on the streets.  Something has come out and is sucking the life force out of people.

The PC's engage but are really terrified of getting close to it and so use everything they can find on the street to throw at the creature.  Finally, after several gun shots from Sam, Jade runs the thing over with a car.

The Buick drove off but Mateo's car smashed into it preventing it from escaping. That's when everyone notices the Dark Tower off in the distance.

UNTIL, PRIMUS, gorrilas and a few sorcerers came in to investigate the scene.  The area was quarantined and the crime scene investigated.  Mateo, Sam and Jade were taken to Stronghold to be quarantined for 48 hours (as were a lot of regular people who were near the crime sight).  The trunk of the Buick had opened to another dimension and everyone was worried that an alien virus or disease could have been brought into the world.

And so ... quarantine.  Just to be sure.

Within six hours Jade had been released.  She's registered, fully cooperated and has a lot of government contacts.  Mateo is released as scheduled - 48 hours later.  Sam is not scheduled for release (he keeps lying to the investigators, acts delusional and continues to attempt to escape).

Mateo returns to the Agency but is met by a low powered telepathic bicycle messenger who can see a few seconds into his driving future (as long as he's on his bike) so he never gets into accidents.  He delivers an envelope to Mateo. He tells Mateo, "My office was paid to deliver this to you at this time.  I have a picture of what you looked like so I know it's the right person".

He hands over the envelope.  Miranda questions the biker a bit but he doesn't know anything.

Mateo opens the envelope and a few maps fall out.  Maps of Albion.  And there is a letter.  The opening line of the letter is, "Dear Mateo,  I took your daughter into the dark tower ..."
