Return to Meridian
Wispy smoke rose from the center of Compass Tower (Tirnir branch) and the company went in to invesigate. Finding a rune in the center of the floor level of the tower, they banded together to disable and control the security measure. After some time of mystically investigating and poking/prodding with fingers and tools, not only did the fog stop, but a staircase was revealed.
Decending into the depths, the company found a labyrinth of corradors and rooms, full of traps, monsters, and treasure. A dungeon, right below their feet!
After clearing the dungeon, The Compass is able to redeem a Crimson Acolyte who reveals his name to be (*check notes*). He was a scholar at the tower before 'the Great Upheavel.'
A secret door leads to the true treasure of the dungeon, a large library. While most of the precious books fall appart at the touch, the few that remain represent a larger cache of knowledge than anywhere in the known-post-upheavel world. Included in this knowledge treasure chest is a glowing globe, showing the world, as it was before the upheavel. So much has changed... so much needs to be seen.
