Synopsis:
Characters form the core of the upper midwest iron triangle. Main bases in Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis form the hub of their fight against Black Book, the Saurians, and the Greys.
Character Ideas:
The characters should be of one of four or so basic types.
- Planner: A primarily intelligence gathering person, with contacts, allies, and physical assets to get jobs done. These are the thinkers.
- Shooter: A gun toter, a door kicker, and the point of the sword.
- Agent: A mix between shooter and planner, these are your classic field agents or spies who have a wide variety of skills and specialize in close work.
- Assets: A specialist in a given field to the general exclusion of others. Be it a ballistics person, a psychic, a mage, or a computer hacker. Support person in the Conspiracy, but vital none the less.
Players will want to settle on a couple character concepts, and keep backups ready. Character creation will progress through the team building and job specialization and selection before points are given out.
The main thing to remember is that other peoples' desire to have a non-douche bag on the team trumps your desire to play a douche bag. So while everyone should have drawbacks and disadvantages, you still have to be part of a team that selects its own members.
Controller:
The Team's controller will be Casper.
Considerations:
Each character will want to have multiple cell phones, computer accounts (ideally both hacked), residences, cars, bank accounts, and sources of guns. This will necessitate contacts and friends to help you in your fight against the invaders and the traitors to humanity. Either know the people who can get you these things yourself, or get them from other team members. But everyone must have them.
Game Concept:
AEGIS is the orginization you work for. Your cell's job is to protect the upper midwest and drive out the aliens and traitors here. You are basically fighting a black on black, wet war against alien insurgents. The insurgents are supported by Black Book, a human orginization that seeks to subvert humanity for their own gain. Only limited rules of warfare are followed, and that is that both sides do not want this to get out in the open. Only limited rules of espionage are followed, and that is that only the most valued assets are traded and not shot on sight. It is a very deep covert war, where existing power structures and even history itself is corrupted and manipulated to be on both sides of the battle. Police, politicians, and the military industrial congressional complex are both fought over by both sides of this war, and some elements are ignorant of the war.
