Each team member is skilled at each of these, but has higher levels in their primary (first listed) and secondary (second) skill.

Players face a retro-stalinist, kleptocracy, technonologically elevated, cyber-dictator on his home turf. Oh, and his mad scientist lacky too.
Home: International crew of edge runners, drawn together by a doctor from the WHO, and backed by the IMF.
Impetus: The Doctor escaped from Aqtau (a coastal city) in Kazakstan with the help of Ski (top of list). She learned of a hard time-line process project going live on October 31, 2099 at 0000 hours. It is currently October 29, 2099 1800 hours. She escaped ten hours ago.
Intel: If not stopped by midnight when the chemical reaction completes between the industrial poisons and the viral nanobots, and they are allowed into the Caspian Sea, or whatever, it will be just two months before all sea life is dead, with the chances of stopping it dropping exponentially by the day.

* The Capital, Alma-Ata, is one thousand sixty miles inland, and across virtually the entire country.
The Capital of Kazakstan, Alma-Ata is the distillation of the terror paranoia, and sense of crisis endemic to that beleagured nation. The image of the dictator, Zarubayev, is everywhere, as are his cybershell guards. Since 2000 things have gone from terribad to most-horrible-on-earth.
Pay: Players are paid 800K credits up front, with 4.2M credits upon completion. Both sums are paid into the Cayman Islands bank and held by Executive Decisions Clearing House per standard Shadow Contracts. Ten percent is paid to next of kin upon death or failure (which is not standard, it is exceptionally unusual). Players are flown, expenses paid, on the UN's ticket. No questions asked on gear and weapons; they're covered under UN diplomatic packages. Possible candidates are within one hour round trip from a major city.
* They were contacted from three to five hours ago.
* The intercontinental flight was two hours on a UN shuttle, landing in Astrakhan one to three hours ago.
* It was a ten minute drive to the harbor when they all met on the large fishing trawler an hour ago.
Start date: The handpicked team have arrived on the fishing trawler over the last one to three hours. Intercontinental ballistic spaceplane flights brought them to the Russian city of Astrakhan. An hour ago, the trawler put out to sea. With the plan still in flux, they are a mere thirty minutes offshore of the port town of Aqtau the doctor escaped from in Kazakstan.
