Con Teaser:

All things age and die. Great heroes eventually grow feeble and weak. So the Age of Legend nears the end of its life centuries after the Earthdawn sailed. Chaos and ignorance are replacing past glories. A dark and fearful age waits to be born from the corpse of the old.

Magic, once powerful and ever-present, fades from the world. Cities and towns are falling apart and monuments are crumbling as the magic used to create them fails. Throal lies abandoned, its tunnels unsafe. Travar's famous white buildings lie in ruin. The Blood Wood's weeping trees have all died. Civilization collapses into small villages afraid of the world beyond. Bandits and worse prowl the lands taking what they need.

Magicians, the casters of spells large and small, continue to exist only in stories. Other adepts are rare and many have turned twisted and foul in their attempts to hold on to their abilities. Magic items no longer work becoming simple mundane items.

Barsaive grows ever more mundane as creatures of magic disappear. Even namegivers are vanishing. The river traveling t'skrang and optimistic windlings disappeared as they had fewer and fewer children. The stoic obsidimen retreated into their liferocks and haven't been seen in lifetimes of any alive, except the dragons. Great dragons are the only dragons still present in the world.

All namegivers except humans seem doomed to follow the t'skrang, windlings and obsidimen. Elf, dwarf, ork and troll are giving birth to humans more often than their own kind. These children are seen as abominations and many are killed or abandoned. Additionally, trolls and orks face the threat of sudden transformation into the human form. There seems to be no logic behind the transformation and all live in fear of the change.

There have been glimpses of light amongst the darkness. Horrors and their twisted creations have vanished from the world. Stories say that some still spread their dark influence from the astral, but there are none to confirm this. Mighty Thera collapsed into chaos long ago because its power was based on the fear of its magics.

You are a member of one of the last groups of adepts in Barsaive. You have spent your life fighting against the darkness that threatens to overwhelm the land. The other groups that used to aid in the fight are all gone. That is why you are Named The Last. Mountainshadow has summoned The Last and none ignore the summons of a great dragon.

"I'm not bitter, I just bring it up 5 times a day." -Varian Liotha (For missing the 2 hour festival, because it would cut too much time away from the three week journey.)
