Dragon of Icespire Peak

The group made the trip back to Phalandrin with Alfonse the dairy farmer, Betsie his prize cow, his other cows, pigs, horses, and chickens and wagon in tow.  Upon arrival he set up in an abandoned house on the outskirts of town.

The group could tell something was abuz and when they got to the Drink House, Falcon the Archer was there with his cook Corwin and stableboy Pell, and another veteran looking warrior.  Everyone in the Inn welcomed them.  Falcon approached with a smile and said he needed their help, he was run out of his fort and orc have overtaken it, with the help of Gorthaz the Thunder Boar.

The initiates of Talos called him forth, and when they heard and saw it approaching, they fled the hunting lodge fort.  After destroying Conyberry, and then taking my lodge fort, I believe they're headed here next.  The group agree they should protect Phalandrin.

Agreeing to help, they set out, and on the two day journey there, they discuss plans. Flacon says Gorthak has plagued the region, and is summoned by those casters when they need an ally.  Ramel uses his history knowledge to tell the group that in the past, either large groups of 100+ have faced the Boar, and they take large losses.  Or a hero and a group of people.  One time a hero had a magic sword, and dispatched the Boar quickly.  The Boar also has lightning tusks, and thunder hooves, and attacks with great and vicious power.  They stop a short hike from the fort, and make camp that night, so the morning is an easy hike. It is overcast, and there is thunder.

In the morning they awake, with a handful of goodberries from Seala.  People have memorized spells for a battle with Orcs and a Huge lightning wielding elemental Boar. They hike to the fort and sit watch all morning, no smoke or noise is coming from inside.  Ramel asks if Falcon can look for tracks, he does and comes back a couple hours later, saying it looks like they approached, went inside, and then left.  It appears they're only a short distance away based on the sounds of thunder.  We should occupy the fort to draw them out, or wait for them to move on Phalandrin then ambush them in the woods.

The group agrees on the latter, and Falcon thinks he might know a spot, but the group has to stay ahead of the orcs and make sure they don't go somewhere else.  They hear thunder coming, and then the move is on.  It appears the orcs are going where Falcon thinks, so the group sprint the last bit to take the hill.  From above this slope, the group waits in the trees to see the orcs and Gorthak moving south through a little trail/clearing.

When they're more exposed, Aden starts the attack with magic missiles at the Boar.  Ramel follows with a fireball on the boar and the Orcs following him, dropping perhaps eighteen orcs.  Seala drops a Plant Growth on the whole enemy group and they're basically slowed.  Flacon, Dave, and Cal (Falcon's friend from the bar) all pepper the orcs with arrows.

The orcs and the boar move towards the group, but slowly.  Aden launches more magic missiles at the boar.  Ramel again drops a fireball, injuring the boar, and wiping out the rest of the orcs.  Seala puts protection from electricity on herself.  The others rain down a few arrows on the boar.

The boar moves a little bit more.  Aden uses his normal bow and gets a hit.  The other archers get some hits.  Ramel magic missiles the boar.  Seala charges with her flame sword, gets hit by the tusks, but the electricity part does no damage, but she takes some damage; she hits, and drops the boar, which dissipates into clouds and then evaporates.

The group heads back to Phalandrin, and upon reaching there and telling their story, they level up to 6th.
