This game was part of the JonCon07 Iron DM tournament. Three DMs had one hour to construct a game based on five ingredients: Night Hag, Wedding, Apple Orchard, the NPC quote "There's nothing I can tell you that won't get you killed" and it must begin or end with a fall from grace. Each DM could tell his players what level to be, how much starting money they had, and five additional words to guide their character creation.

Jeff had his players make 5th level characters.

Jeff's five words: "Rogues. Serving the same lord."

Synopsis:

The characters, as hirelings and loyal sevants to their lord, attended his wedding. Well he was one of the city's crime lords over a given stretch of turf. Which included a section of catacombs in the city sewers where the wedding was held. The ceremony was crashed by hordes of undead, and the characters were instructed to get the bride to safety while the lord and his party of thugs stayed to hold them off.

They fled to the church where the cleric presiding was from and sought weapons to harm the undead. They returned, having brought the bride to safety, to help their Lord and what remained of his men. Once the battle ended, they helped clean up and get the wounded out.

Back at the Lords vila in town, he explained to them over dinner that the champion of the city, Redcross, was his brother. But also that his brother had gone missing.

Jeff - Here is where my memory fades. They had to go to a farm/orchard where his brother was hanging out after he'd killed all the pesants. There was a hag there, and they had to fight the hag and the knight at once. One of them died, but other than that they were successful. I just can't remember why they had to kill the brother. I believe it had something to do with a curse on both brothers or the newest inlaw, the bride...

Memories:

Jeff - I enjoyed running this game a great deal. Brandon made a rogue/cleric and Lanica a rogue/wizard as I recall. So even though I threw undead at them he was able to do well. Undead against things with backstab is one of my favorite schticks.
