Ad is short for addict, which is what he used to be. Exshock which was his drug of choice makes heroin look like pixie sticks. This injectable drug is fired in shotgun shell size doses into the throat. It leaves a cyst like sack of drugs that slowly is absorbed by the body. He grew up as a kid on the streets of Sydney Australia. He never knew his parents, and isn’t sure he’da wanted to.

 

Ad got his nickname from his mates in the outback. He ran with the aborigines and other disaffected social outcasts against the Megaplexes on the three coasts of Australia. He was friends with the bushmen, with kiwis, Samoans and anyone else who stood against the Megacorps. During one of his many runs, they got separated, and he fled into the outback. He hasn’t seen his mates since, because the heat was really on and he fled to North America. He stowed away on a grain freighter and came onto the grid in Seattle. Continuing to wander and flee from the Yakuza, he traveled to Detroit, where he met followers of Aikido and Kushida-sensei. From them, after being dragged in from the rain and nurtured back to health from several gunshot wounds, he learned the art of the Japanese sword.

 

Ad is a tall man of mixed heritage, being somewhat Caucasian and somewhat aborigines. He has long black bushy hair, and wears cool sunglasses. Normally he wears chinos, a long sleeve t-shirt, a trenchcoat, and of course his swords. If there is too much heat, he’ll walk with a stick (his staff). Physically he is not that imposing standing only six feet tall and weighing two and a half bucks. Most of that weight is internal so the weight doesn’t show. He does have quite a bit of ware and he’s built to last.

 

Ad is a quiet hero to those on the streets, and especially to the orphans that he’s adopted in Anoka. He yearns for something more in the world, but for now he’s single, being a wanderer and a street samurai. He’s an altruist even though he’s violent, passionate, horny, at times mean, at times hot tempered, and at those times he flies off the handle cutting up anything that was making him mad.

 

After many many many bad experiences with gangs, gangers, and street punks, he hates them with a pure righteous rage. He doesn’t outright kill them, that would be wrong, but it doesn’t take much more of an excuse than that.
